National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a one-stop solution, set up as Misson Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).  Through NSP, the students can get all the services under one roof starting from scholarship application, receipt of the application, application processing, scholarship sanction, and disbursal of various scholarships to Students.

The aim of the National Scholarship Portal is to provide a Simplified, Mission-oriented, Accountable, Responsive & Transparent ‘SMART’ System for faster & effective disposal of Scholarships applications and delivery of funds directly into the beneficiaries’ account without any leakages.

Advantages of the National Scholarship Portal

  1. Make the scholarship process simple, by providing all the information under one roof.
  2. For all the scholarships, a single integrated application
  3. Brings transparency to the entire scholarship system
  4. The system will suggest the student about his eligibility for what type of scholarship
  5. Duplicates will be eliminated
  6. Help in standardization of the system, providing the master data for various Institutions, at the All-India level
  7. Provides up-to-date information, enabling easy decision-making,
  8. Provides a comprehensive MIS system
  9. Enables the easy monitoring of the entire scholarship process right from the application stage to the delivery of funds stage.

 

National Scholarship Portal Scholarship Schemes

Through the National Scholarship Portal, the students can register themselves for the two Scholarship schemes. The scholarships are divided into two major major categories, based on the class/course in which they are studying.

  1. Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme: Students studying from Class 1st to Class 10th.
  2. Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme/Top Class Scholarship Scheme/Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme: Students studying from Class 11th, 12th, and above. The students studying courses like ITI, B.SC, B. Com., B. Tech, Medical /students studying top-level colleges such as IITs and IIMs/ students doing Technical and Professional courses, etc.

How to Check the Student Eligibility for Scholarship through National Scholarship Portal

Before applying for any scholarship, through the National Scholarship Portal, the student can check his eligibility. Steps in checking the eligibility:

  1. Enter the Domicile State or the Union Territory of the student
  2. Enter the Course level from the given options in the drop-down menu
  3. Select the religion from the drop-down menu
  4. Select the caste/community category of the student from the drop-down menu
  5. Select the gender of the student from the drop-down menu
  6. Enter the parental annual income
  7. Enter the disability status as yes or no
  8. Enter the Captcha shown on the screen
  9. Finally, after entering all the above mandatory information, the candidate can get his eligibility

National Scholarship Portal New Registration

 

The following mentioned documents should be readily available before the start of the registration process for the Scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal:

1. Educational documents of student

2. Student’s Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch. For the Pre Metric scholarship scheme, the students can give their parent’s account details.

3. Aadhaar number of the Student

4. If Aadhaar is not available, then a Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School and

5. Aadhaar Enrolment ID and Scanned copy of Bank passbook

6. If Institute/School is different from the domicile state of the applicant, then a Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School.

The student can check the status of the scholarship by visiting the official National Scholarship Portal, by following the steps:

  1. Enter the Academic Year
  2. Enter the status the student wants to check Fresh/Renewal
  3. Enter the application id. The application ID is same as last year’s student registration ID
  4. Enter the password
  5. Enter the Captcha
  6. The student can get the status on the screen
  7. The student can not apply for renewal if the course is completed
  8. Students should not apply for a fresh scholarship if they already availed the scholarship and are eligible for renewal of the same
